Opposite leaves with pointed notch between leaves. White flowers with four points. Seed pods (buttons) form in axils of leaves, barrel-shaped. Forms rhizomes and stolons. Forms underground closed flowers that self pollenate.
Description
Tough to control perennial weed in turfgrass and other environments. Difficult to control due to extensive rhizome system and production of seed underground. Can become chlorotic in appearance due to a common virus.
