Features

Summer annual plant with upright growth habit. Leaves simple, alternate, curving downward, with serrate (toothed) margins, ovate in shape, cordate at base. Plant with a terminal spike.

Description

Weed common along fence rows, roadsides, and former turfgrass areas treated with Roundup. Without preemergence herbicide, hophornbeam copperleaf readily emerges in the killed areas. Normally a weed of water areas and some crop areas.
