Leaf heart-shaped (cordate), pubescent with hairs that point directly out from leaf; sepals are long and curl out, pubescent; flowers typically blue, not purple like tall morningglory; if leaves are lobed with similar characteristics then species is ivyleaf morningglory (Ipomoea hederacea).

Description

Twining annual vine common throughout the southeastern United States. Leaf hairs, curling sepals, and blue flowers are the most distinguishing characteristics.
