Features
Growth habit: Decumbent annual grass. Spreading by tillers and rooting at the nodes. Stem: rounded, glabrous; Leaf: glabrous, except hairs along leaf edge; Collar: Ligule is short, membranous with fringe of hairs. Inflorescence: 3 to 7 racemes at end of stem often curving to resemble a “crow’s foot”.
Description
Common weed in disturbed areas of turfgrass and crop production. Germinates later than crabgrass spp., typically in May or June. Develops a large tillered plant rapidly after germination.
