Perennial solanaceous species. White to purple flowers. Produces yellow tomato-like fruit. Leaves more long than wide. Spines along primary veins of leaves and stem. Plant rigid.

Description

Rhizomatous perennial regrowing from old root stock. Common in pastures and old abandoned fields. In the same family as tomato, so possess similar characteristics such as a clammy appearance, single alternate leaves, and five petal flowers.
