Features

Annual low-growing winter annual herb. Leaves trifoliate, spatulate, with minuscule teeth along edges often present. Central leaflet on a short petiole (leaf stalk). Inflorescence a cluster of individual yellow flowers, similar to that of small hop clover. Produces a swirling bur-like seedpod covered in short spines.

Description

Similar to spotted bur clover however bur clover does not have dark spots on upper leaf surface. Common in thin turf or low competition areas. Can also survive in low nitrogen, unfertilized conditions since it is a nitrogen fixing legume.
