Rosette, tap root. Leaves are lanceolate with prominent linear veins that run the length of the leaf. Leaf hairs prominent early, but become less so as plant ages. Seedhead a stalk with apical compact inflorescence- 1 to 3 cm in length. Seedheads not branching numerous.

Description

Rosette forming perennial common in pastures, along roadsides, and in some low-maintenance managed turf. Often mistaken as monocot because of linear leaf veins. Not prominent in lower mowed, high maintenance turf.
