Features

Dichotomous (Y-shaped) branching summer annual with upright growth habit. Stem densely pubescent. Leaves simple, alternate, pubescent, with spaced teeth. Fruit a cluster of spiked fruit. Seed with two “horns.”

Description

Often referred to as “goat-head” because of two horns on seed. Plant pubescent throughout. Primarily distributed on coastal plain soils in the southeastern U.S.
